So, times a tickin’ as they say! Mother’s Day is fast approaching!
If you’re looking for something a bit out of the box that won’t break the budget…read on!
I like to send something a bit different each year to my mother for Mother’s Day. Some years it’s her favorite flowers, some years a pretty bracelet or earrings, some years it’s a purse I know she’ll like, some years it’s really nice skincare (her most appreciated I do believe, her skin is amazing, btw). I love a good theme gift! A Beauty & Skincare Bundled Gift is always great IMO (if you’re wondering son (wink-wink). Obviously, it doesn’t need to be a BIG bundle. An item or two is perfect and very much appreciated.
This go-to, long time, favorite facial moisturizer of mine is now one of my mother’s too. I keep it on subscription auto-delivery actually so I don’t run low (and save a bit of money that way too). Another product I use each night as soon as I brush my teeth & put my lovely mouthguard in (apparently, I’m a teeth grinder) is yet another product I can’t live without AND got my mother hooked on too is this amazing lip treatment. I love and use their lip scrubs too (they come in truly yummy flavors). I use the lip scrubs about once a week, sometimes twice depending on my lip condition before applying the treatment. Another go-to that I first discovered and knew my mother would also love is this amazing facial exfoliating scrub. It’s great for all skin types. You can use it on a regular basis but I mostly just use it when my skin looks a bit dull and boy can I see a difference. My mother says she uses it once a week. This hydrating face mist is a product that is always on hand at my house (and in my work tote & in my beach bag). It’s perfect for warm climates, I live in Florida, and my mother also lives in the hot, muggy South where about 5 months a year it is just as humid as Florida. We both love it! It’s refreshing & a nice pick me up even over makeup. It comes in different sizes, sets of 2 or 4 or buy a single bottle to try. I especially love the Aloe, Sage & Orange Blossom AND also the Aloe, Cucumber & Green Tea. In full transparency, I own and use all of the variations (depending on my mood & time of year).
Something I recently purchased for myself (I LOVE IT) and my mother will be getting as well this year is a 2 tier bathroom countertop organizer . It’s clear so it goes with any bathroom decor. Of course, it could go underneath a bathroom vanity but I love mine where I can clearly see everything neatly organized & displayed and at my fingertips. It has been a game changer for me & I know my mother will love it too!
I know without a doubt, if you asked my mother what her all time favorite Mother’s Day gift from me has been throughout the years what she’d say. Several years ago after my mother had retired, I treated her (and myself too) to 5 days in NYC. All expenses on me! Our trip (purposely) fell over Mother’s Day Weekend so it was extra special! She had never been AND had always wanted to go so…off we went! I had been to NYC many times & knew exactly where she’d like to go & what she’d like to see. We covered it all. We still talk (and laugh) about that trip today! Since a trip like that isn’t realistic on a regular basis (plus she doesn’t like to fly anymore the older she has gotten), practical gifts like the ones above are appreciated SO much by her. She takes great care of herself and would buy good products anyway. This way, I try them out first and get an idea if she would like them then send her a few products here and there throughout the year. Mother’s Day being one of those occasions.
To all the mom’s out there I hope you have a beautiful Mother’s Day. Thanks for all you do!
For me, I’m planning on having a very relaxing weekend that week, most likely with several self-care treatments on the agenda. For sure in various muumuus ALL weekend, most likely with a splash of mimosa thrown in during brunch for good measure! *I’ll be sure and share my favorite muumuus in a post soon. I DO love a fun, pretty, comfy muumuu!!! I say muumuu, you say caftan. Same thing (pretty much) in my book!
I’d love to hear what you have planned for Mother’s Day AND what your favorite skincare products are.
Happy Sprucing! ~Scarlett
